8:00 am – 4:00 pm Service Officer School – Day 1 Palm 4-5
This is a two-day informative VA&R class that covers all veteran benefits. Certificate and certification card provided upon completion. Required to attend both days. *Pre-Registration required (limited seating), go to: floridalegion.org/classes

This course will review the main question: “Where do we go from here?” Course instructor will review the new electronic way to process membership, tactics, and discuss how to properly execute the membership plan and achieving 100% Membership.
9:30 am – 11:00 am Post Operations Training International Ballroom
This course will provide essential instruction on managing a successful Post. Topics will include an overview of the American Legion organization, officer responsibilities, Post programs, and business operations, social functions, audits, public relations, and how to address common challenges. Additionally, participants will gain insight into helpful resources for Posts.
10:30 am – 11:30 am Department Finance Committee Meeting Narcissus / Orange
This meeting will provide a review of the Department’s finances, and address any financial issues as needed. All Legionnaires are welcome to attend.
11:00 am – 12:00 pm Women Veterans Outreach Training Hibiscus / Iris
All women veterans are encouraged to attend. The goal of this outreach is to raise awareness of the resources available to women veterans in Florida and to encourage them to sign up for these valuable services.
11:00 am – 12:30 pm Food Handler’s Course Camelia / Dogwood
This class is for food handlers to provide best practices and procedures to manage risk while handling and processing food and beverages and how to protect your Post. *Pre-Registration required (limited seating), go to: floridalegion.org/classes*
11:30 pm – 12:30 pm Membership Advanced Training International Ballroom

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm Internal Affairs International Ballroom
This meeting will cover reports from the following Convention Committees: Amendments to Constitution & By-Laws, Credentials, Resolutions and Time & Place. Each Post having a duly qualified delegation present may send one delegate to this meeting to vote on the matters that will be decided. *All voting members must have a black ribbon in order to vote, which can be picked up at registration*
2:00 pm- 3:00 pm Fundraising Class Camellia / Dogwood
Legionnaires can expect to learn about a variety of fundraising techniques that can boost other Post initiatives.
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Buddy Check Training Azalea / Begonia
This class will provide essential information and training on the importance of performing regular buddy checks to ensure the well-being of fellow veterans.
3:00 pm- 4:30 pm Department Executive Committee Meeting International Ballroom
This meeting will cover current Post matters, budget approval, and general Department announcements. Please note: Only Executive Committee Members are permitted to address the Committee*
3:30 pm – 5:30 pm Legion Riders Meeting for District & Area Chairs Camellia / Dogwood
ALR District & Area Chairs will learn about their role and the year’s upcoming events. All ALR Chairs are invited.
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm 2025 Convention Kick-Off Party Poolside

Area Caucuses will cover end of year reports and the election of the new Area Commanders. Meeting is held by the current Area Commander. Mandatory for Area Commanders. Must be a member of the Area to vote.
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm PROJECT: VetRelief Class Hibiscus / Iris
Attendees can expect to learn more about the PROJECT VetRelief program and how it helps Florida’s veterans with financial assistance and suicide prevention.
3:00 pm- 4:00 pm Post Chaplain’s Training Fuchsia / Gardenia
As a spiritual leader, the Chaplain is an integral part of all American Legion ceremonies. Learn about your role as Chaplain for Legion events, prayer writing, promoting Four Chaplains Sunday, providing spiritual leadership and submitting annual reports to outline your Post’s achievements from the year.
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Post Sgt-at-Arms, Color & Honor Guard Training Camelia / Dogwood
This class will cover the detailed duties of a Post Sgt-at-Arms and explore how your Color Guard and Honor Guard can become more involved in Legion and community events.
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm Post Adjutant’s Training Palm 4-5
This course will cover detailed duties and responsibilities of a Post Adjutant.
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm Post Judge Advocate Training International Ballroom
This course will cover how to advise the various sections of the Legion and how to interpret the Constitution and By-Laws at the Post, District, and Area levels. It will also include a mock trial to demonstrate how to preside over a trial effectively.
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm Post Historian / Social Media Class Narcissus / Orange
Learn how to compile History Narratives and Yearbooks, along with best practices for preserving your Post’s history. Social media training will also be provided to help enhance your Post’s online presence.
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm 20/4 Echelon 30 Meeting Fuchsia / Gardenia
Honor Society of female members of the American Legion. Female members of the Legion are encouraged to attend and learn the benefits of becoming involved with this group. All invited.
