Area/District Commanders

Area and District are elected each year and volunteer their time and services in promoting, strengthening and growing The American Legion, The State of Florida is divided into six areas and sixteen districts. Each elected Area Commander and District Commander focuses their attention on the area/district they are assigned.

Department Chairs are appointed each year by the Department Commander. Department Chairs focus their time and attention on one of the many programs of The American Legion, Department of Florida. They are involved not only with The American Legion membership, but also deeply embedded within the communities.

Staff

Department Staff work on a permanent basis for The American Legion, Department of Florida. The department staff handles all of the day to day operations of the organization and assists the Department Commander, Officers, Area/District Commanders and Chairs. The American Legion, Department of Florida operates with a small staff, but a mighty staff.
