Teacher of the Year
We all know a teacher that has last an everlasting impression on our hearts. This award is to give back to the Teachers and to recognize an educator for their hard work and dedication to our youth. All posts are encouraged to nominate a teacher for this award.
Requirements
- Teachers in grades k-12 in any public, private, or parochial school or academy certified in the State of Florida recognized by the Florida Department of Education. Teachers selected will have taught an academic course in the classroom.
- Be nominated by a local American Legion Post.
- Be endorsed by the School Board Superintendent of their county, their principal through letters of recommendation to be attached to this nomination form.
Award
Every year the Florida American Legion Teacher of the Year is presented a check for $500.00 during the Florida American Legion Department Convention
