The American Legion, Department of Florida has partnered up with Special Olympics Florida to help support our children and youth from all walks of life.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness using legal, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Donating Funds and Time

Not everyone is interested or available to coach or volunteer with Special Olympics, Florida. That’s OK!

You can still make a difference in the life of an athlete and the Special Olympics movement by providing your support through individual or Post financial support.

Special Olympics, Florida does not charge its athletes nor their families a fee for participation. They are funded through individuals, businesses, and civic groups throughout Florida. With your help, we can assist Special Olympics, Florida with pursuing their mission of making the joys and benefits of participating in Special Olympics a reality to more athletes each year.
