This class is designed to gather vital information to help improve support and resources for homeless veterans across the state.

This course will cover detailed duties and responsibilities of a Post Adjutant.
8:30 am – 11:00 am Programs Fair Palms Atrum
Discover the wide variety of programs we offer to support our community. From veterans’ assistance and youth scholarships to Americanism activities! Meet our Department Chairs and learn how to get involved. Programs featured at the fair include: Baseball, Blood Donor, Boys State, Children & Youth, Civil Air Patrol, Disaster Preparedness, JROTC, Oratorical, Project:VetRelief (PVR), Scouting, Sea Cadet, Shooting Sports, and Youth Law Cadet.
9:00 am – 10:30 am Post Historian / Social Media Training Grand Sierra F
Learn how to compile History Narratives and Yearbooks, along with best practices for preserving your Post’s history. Social media training will also be provided to help enhance your Post’s online presence.
9:30 am – 10:30 am Conflict Resolution Class Grand Sierra G
This class is designed to identify, address, and resolve disagreements within posts. Participants learn effective communication, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving techniques to maintain harmony and strengthen teamwork throughout the organization.
10:00 am – 11:00 am Membership Basic Training Grand Sierra H-I
This course will provide an overview of membership recruiting, retention strategies, and available awards. Designed for those new to membership efforts, it will cover the basics of building and maintaining a strong and engaged membership base.
10:00 am – 11:00 am Legion Riders Meeting for District & Area Chairs Antigua 3-4
ALR District & Area Chairs will learn about their role and the year’s upcoming events. All ALR Chairs are invited.
11:00 am – 12:00 pm Fundraising Class Grand Sierra G
Legionnaires can expect to learn a variety of fundraising techniques designed to boost Post initiatives and support their community efforts.
11:30 am – 12:30 pm Post Judge Advocate Training Grand Sierra H-I
This course provides an overview of the Judge Advocate’s responsibilities in ensuring the Post’s Constitution and By-Laws (CBL) are compliant with Department and National regulations. Topics include reviewing and processing CBL changes, understanding rules governing trials, and disciplinary procedures.
12:30 pm- 1:30 pm Department Finance Committee Meeting Curacao 3-4
This meeting will provide a review of the Department’s year-to-date finances, including an audit review, and address any financial issues as needed. All Legionnaires are welcome to attend.
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Membership Advanced Training Grand Sierra H-I
This class provides detailed instruction on how to use MyLegion.org for processing membership, managing members, running reports, and understanding the “My Groups” feature.
1:00 pm- 2:00 pm Boys State / Oratorical Training Grand Sierra G
Area, District, and Post Oratorical and Boys State Chairs are encouraged to attend. This training will cover the rules for conducting contests at each level, important contest dates and deadlines, and provide a forum to address any questions.
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Women Veterans Outreach Training Grand Sierra F
All women veterans are encouraged to attend. The goal of this outreach is to raise awareness of the resources available to women veterans in Florida and to encourage them to sign up for these valuable services.
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm Post Sgt-at-Arms, Color Guard, & Honor Guard Class Grand Sierra G
This class will cover the detailed duties of a Post Sgt-at-Arms and explore how your Color Guard and Honor Guard can become more involved in Legion and community events.
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm Food Handler’s Class Grand Sierra F
This class is designed for food handlers and will cover best practices and procedures to manage risks while handling and processing food and beverages, as well as how to protect your Post. *Pre-Registration Required* Please register online.
2:30 pm – 4:00 pm Post Commander’s Training Grand Sierra H-I
This course will cover the detailed duties and responsibilities of a Post Commander.
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm Legislative Training Grand Sierra G
This course provides an overview of The American Legion’s legislative priorities and how Posts can support them at all levels. The session will cover effective advocacy, communication with elected officials, and current key issues affecting veterans and Posts, such as gaming regulations. Participants will learn how to engage members in grassroots efforts while maintaining the organization’s nonpartisan integrity.
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm 20/4 Echelon 30 Meeting Curacao 3-4
The 20/4 Echelon 30 is the Honor Society of female members of The American Legion. Female Legion members are encouraged to attend and learn more about the organization and the benefits of becoming involved. All are welcome to attend.

Attendees will learn more about the PROJECT VetRelief program and how it supports Florida’s veterans through financial assistance and suicide prevention.

This course is designed to help Post leaders strengthen their understanding of effective Post management, and will provide essential instruction on managing a successful Post. Topics include officer responsibilities, meetings, finances, membership, and compliance.

This class will provide valuable information about the available VA benefits and how veterans can access and utilize them.
2:00 pm- 3:00 pm Post Chaplain’s Training Grand Sierra F
As a spiritual leader, the Chaplain is an integral part of all American Legion ceremonies. In this session, you’ll learn about your role as Chaplain at Legion events, how to write meaningful prayers, promote Four Chaplains Ceremony, provide spiritual leadership, and submit annual reports outlining your Post’s achievements for the year.
2:45 pm – 3:45 pm Social Quarters Best Business Practices Grand Sierra H-I
This class focuses on managing the business operations conducted at most posts. This would include any business venture run with the intent to raise funds to further the mission of The American Legion and how to run them effectively and responsibly.
