French “Frenchie” Shannon Jr.

It is with deep regret that we report the passing of Past 9th District Commander, French “Frenchie” Shannon, Jr. , last week at the Alexander “Sandy” Nininger Veterans Nursing Home in Pembroke Pines at the age of 88. There are no details regarding services at this time, but any new information will be communicated to you through email as well as posted on the website.

Frenchie was a WWII US ARMY Veteran and was a charter member of Post 365, with 26 continuous years of membership. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers in this time of grief.


There will be a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Past 9th District Commander, French, “Frenchie” Shannon, Jr. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 3:30pm at VFW Post 8195, 4414 Pembroke Rd. West Park, FL.

Internment to be held at South Florida National Cemetery, Monday, October 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm.

This will be an all Veteran Service coordinated by the American Legion and the VFW. There will be a buffet following the service.
