Black History Month Event: Honoring Local World War II Heroes
Celebrate Black History Month with an inspiring event that highlights the incredible stories of two trailblazing World War II Veterans, Gladys Blount and Willie Mae Williams.

This special event will feature the oral histories of these remarkable women, who served in the historic 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion—the first and only Women’s Army Corps unit of color to be stationed in Europe during World War II.
Their courage and dedication helped pave the way for change and served as inspiration for the Tyler Perry Netflix film, The Six Triple Eight.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear their stories and honor their contributions to our nation’s history.
