We’ve all seen the horrific news regarding the violent tornadoes that ripped through six Midwestern states, demolishing homes, leveling businesses, and taking far too many lives.
These storms left miles upon miles of devastation in their wake. To experience such desolation and right before the holidays, can you even imagine? I bet you can because the state of Florida is no stranger to natural disasters!
Lucky for us, the state of Florida was spared from this storm system, but we can certainly relate, with a long history of devastating storms throughout our state. Our Department has always received relief efforts from other Legion Family’s around the country, and we feel it is now our turn to provide support to our fellow American Legion Departments and Posts who were affected by this tragic event!
The American Legion, Department of Florida is collecting monetary donations to aid the victims of this recent tragedy. If you would like to contribute to our Tornado Relief Efforts, donations will be collected online using this link (https://www.floridalegion.org/relief/donate/) or by check. Please make checks payable to The American Legion, Department of Florida, and include “Tornado Relief” in the memo line. Checks or money orders can be mailed to the Department Headquarters at the following address:
The American Legion, Department of Florida
Attn: Tornado Relief
1912A Lee Road
Orlando, FL 32810
Our first contribution to the tornado victims will be issued next Thursday, December 23rd. Please join us so that we can give back to our Legion Family who have experienced catastrophic damage to their lives and homes; something we Floridians are all too familiar with.
