Holiday Raffle Rules and Distributions
TICKETS – Raffle tickets will be available for Florida residents starting early October at participating Florida American Legion Posts. Tickets will be available online from November 1, 2022 to December 30, 2022.
The recommended donation amount for each raffle ticket is $5 and there is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase. No purchase or contribution is necessary to enter to win and will not increase your chances of winning.
WHO CAN ENTER – The Holiday Raffle is part of a fundraising campaign for the charitable works of The American Legion, Department of Florida, and local Florida Legion Posts. US residents 18 years or older are eligible to enter. Non-American Legion members may participate in this raffle. Employees of The American Legion, Department of Florida, their family members, and household residents, are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited.
WINNERS – A winning ticket will be randomly selected every day in December. Winning ticket numbers will be posted on the Department website at floridalegion.org, as well as, on the Department’s Facebook page. Winners will be directly notified within approximately 7 days of their name being selected. Potential winners will be notified by phone &/or email using the information associated with the corresponding entry. Three attempts will be made to contact the potential winner within a 14-day period. If the potential winner fails to respond within 14 days, or if notification attempts are returned as undeliverable, the potential winner will be disqualified & the prize payout will be divided between The American Legion, Department of Florida, and the participating Post, if applicable.
Winners are required to provide proper identification verifying name, address, and tax identification number. Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferable. If taxes are not withheld from the winnings prior to distribution, prize winners will be solely responsible for paying any applicable local, state, and federal taxes. The American Legion, Department of Florida is required by Florida State Law to provide tax identification numbers for prize payouts over $600. Failure to comply with any of the rules on this page may result in disqualification.
PRIZE POOL – For every ticket purchased for the suggested $5 donation, $1 will be entered into the prize pool. On November 30, 2022, at 11:59 PM EST, the prize pool will be divided up based on the percentages below. After that, the prize pool can only increase based on the ticket sales from the previous day. For example, donations received through ticket sales on December 1st will be added to December 2nd prize payout. Remember, the more donations and tickets purchased, the more everyone wins!
*If 10,000 raffle tickets are sold across the state, the total raffle prize pool starts at $10,000 and the first payout would be $500!
Prizes will be distributed to winning tickets based on the daily prize pool. Daily prize values are:
Dec 1 – 5% of total prize pool
Dec 2 – 2% of total prize pool
Dec 3 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 4 – 2% of total prize pool
Dec 5 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 6 – 2% of total prize pool
Dec 7 – 7% of total prize pool
Dec 8 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 9 – 2% of total prize pool
Dec 10 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 11 – 3% of total prize pool
Dec 12 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 13 – 2% of total prize pool
Dec 14 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 15 – 7% of total prize pool
Dec 16 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 17 – 2% of total prize pool
Dec 18 – 10% of total prize pool
Dec 19 – 3% of total prize pool
Dec 20 – 1% of total prize pool
Dec 21 – 2% of total prize pool
Dec 22 – 3% of total prize pool
Dec 23 – 3% of total prize pool
Dec 24 – 5% of total prize pool
Dec 25 – 10% of total prize pool

The total raffle prize pool is dependent on the proceeds received for this campaign. For every ticket’s $5 donation, $2 supports The American Legion, Department of Florida, $2 supports the local Legion Post, and $1 goes to the raffle prize pool.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – The American Legion, Department of Florida shall not be liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this sweepstakes fundraising campaign or from any acceptance or use of any prize awarded. Nor shall they be responsible for typographical, printing, or other inadvertent errors in these official rules or other materials relating to this sweepstakes fundraising campaign. The American Legion, Department of Florida will not assume responsibility for the failure of any third party, including Florida American Legion Posts, to act in accordance with its instructions pertaining to Sweepstakes implementation. No mechanical reproductions of entries are accepted. All entries become the property of The American Legion, Department of Florida & will not be returned or acknowledged.
TO SUM UP – You have as good of a chance as anyone to win a very nice cash prize, but only if you participate in the Holiday Raffle.
