We are the American Legion Post 81 Melbourne, Florida, a non-profit 501c19 (veteran organization) and are part of the World’s Largest Veteran Organization. We are a dedicated veteran service organization that participates in parades, ceremonies, and special events within our community to include funerals and community outreach programs.

We have formed a committee within our Post to raise money to mark every Veteran’s headstone at the Melbourne City Cemetery during the holiday season. This project, Honoring Veterans Cemetery Project, is in addition to the Wreaths Across America and is not intended to replace that event but to enhance the sentiment.

We are working on fundraisers to be held throughout the year raise funds for semi-permanent grave markers to be placed at the veteran’s gravestone on the allotted day and perform the ceremony to give the distinction our fallen comrades deserve.
