Over 400 individual crosses are erected each year as part of this Memorial. Each represents a servicemember on active duty that paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving this great nation. Each cross displays a photo of the servicemember; their name, hometown, branch of service, rank; and any higher level awards received. There are 3 Medal of Honor recipients, over 5 Silver Star recipients, over 45 Bronze Star recipients and over 30 Purple Heart recipients represented in the Memorial. An incredible way to introduce the “cost of freedom” to children and young adults. Come and see the price the state of Florida had paid since 9-11.
