On the previous page are the Detachment of Florida Membership Target Dates. Your goal is to reach each of the target dates listed. If your Squadron is able to reach the 50% and the 100% targets, your Squadron will receive a certificate from the Detachment Commander and Detachment Membership Chairman.

Awards for membership are given by the Detachment at each Conference and Convention. Some National Awards are also handed out at those times.

NATIONAL AWARDS

1. Honor Ribbons will be given to those Squadrons who surpass their previous year's membership by July 1st of each year.  The ribbons are distributed at the Annual Fall / Mid-Winter Conference.
2. Citation of Achievement Awards are presented to Squadrons, who as of March 15, meet or exceed their previous year's membership.

STATE AWARDS

Squadrons

1. Certificates will be sent out to each Squadron who reaches their destination on time and on target.
2. The Detachment awards a trophy to the Squadron that has the largest percentage increase over last year's membership.
3. A trophy is awarded to the largest Squadron in the state.
4. The first Squadron to reach 100% is recognized.
5. The Silver Star is awarded to individual Sons of The American Legion members who recruit, renew or reinstate members to their Squadron.

Districts

Each District is split up into categories based on membership size. The first District to reach 100% in their category will be awarded a trophy.

The categories are as follows:

There is a Grab for Cash at the Detachment Convention for the Top 3 District Commanders. To be eligible the District Commander must be present on the Convention Floor.

$25.00 is awarded to each District Commander who achieves 100% by Delegate Cut-off.

Areas

The Detachment Vice Commander who leads his area to 100% first will be presented a trophy.

$25.00 is awarded to each Detachment Vice Commander who achieves 100% by Delegate Cut-off.
