How to Attend 2008 Program Other Programs
Boys State
  •  Are You Interested in Attending This Year?  The first step is: Do you meet the eligibility criteria.  If you have read the program information, you should know that you have to be a high school junior to attend.  The second step is to contact your local American Legion Post and ask for an application.  If you don't know where your local Post is, click here to find it.    An alternate step is to contact your high school guidance counselor and let him/her know you are interested (they should have applications available).  There is usually one counselor who handles this program in most every school. (This is a backup to contacting the Post as the guidance counselor usually provides the post with a list of qualified applicants.)

  • Are you interested in earning college credit?  You should have already read about the dual enrollment program.  If not, go back to the program section to find out more about this program.

  •  Are you looking for a scholarship?  The 2plus2 program offers just that.  Two years at Tallahassee Community College and two years at Florida State University.  We are looking at adding more opportunities each year.

  •  Are you interested in learning about the political process and how government really works?  Then this is the program for you.  Learning by doing is the name of our game.  You participate and learn at the same time.  You run the government, whether it be city, county or state.
